美国司法部正敦促公司提交高管违法的证据，同时加强涉及《反海外腐败法》违法行为的调查和起诉部门的人力。

1977年出台的这部法律禁止美国公司为争取和赢得生意而向外国政府官员行贿。

一名高级官员去年9月正告各公司，如果希望司法部考虑与其合作，就必须交出违法人员，不管其在公司担任何种职务。

司法部刑事司司长莱斯莉·考德威尔说：“我们的确正专注于个人。立案调查个人———这个人可能生活在国外或是另一个国家的公民，而且如果证据在另一个国家———将是很困难的。”

她说：“在一半以上的国家，如果不面临潜在的违反《反海外腐败法》的行为，就很难做生意。我们认识到这是一个严重问题。”
